About these policies
Body Harmonics Teacher Training is held at our Teacher Training Centres in Toronto and at affiliated Centres across Canada and internationally. The policies that follow relate specifically to our Toronto operations and to enrolments made directly through Body Harmonics Pilates Inc. via: bodyharmonics.ca, email, telephone and in person. Additional and/or different policies may be in place at affiliated Centres. Please contact the Body Harmonics Teacher Training Centre where you plan to do your training for more information.

To reserve space at a Body Harmonics workshop, please submit a minimum of 50% of the fee as a deposit towards your registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, e-transfer, money order, certified cheque or cash. Payment is also accepted at the door for any program or workshop on a stand-by basis if space permits. However, we strongly recommend checking ahead of time to ensure there is a spot! Payment terms are available! Contact our Teacher Training Coordinator to set up a flexible payment plan.
All registrants who reserve space ahead of time receive a confirmation and receipt by email. If you do not receive a confirmation shortly after you register, please contact our Teacher Training Coordinator.
Registration paid by your employer
If your employer is paying for your registration and needs an invoice, please advise our Teacher Training Coordinator know to make the appropriate arrangements.
We offer several preferential pricing arrangements, as outlined below.
Full-time students save 15%
Full-time students who are currently enrolled in a college or university program save 15% on tuition fees. Please send a copy of your student ID to our Teacher Training Coordinator to claim your savings.
Save 50% when you repeat a program or workshop
You may repeat any Comprehensive Pilates Track program (minimum one full module) or workshop (full length) as many times as you want. Save 50% when you repeat or audit a program or workshop. Please contact our Teacher Training Coordinator to make arrangements.
Income tax credit
Pilates Comprehensive Track tuition fees can be applied towards the tuition tax credit with the Canada Revenue Agency. Please contact our Teacher Training Coordinator to request a tax receipt.
Cancelling a registration
Body Harmonics Pilates Comprehensive Track:
If the student leaves the Pilates Comprehensive Track having completed 25% or less of the program, the refund is 75% less cancellation fee
If the student leaves having completed between 25% and 50% of the program, the refund is 50% less cancellation fee
If the student leaves after completing between 50% and 75% the refund is 25% less cancellation fee
If the student leaves after completing 75% of the program there is no refund
The cancellation fee is $300.00
Program materials are non-refundable
Up to two business weeks before the workshop start date, the refund is 75% of the tuition fee
With less than two business weeks before the workshop start date, the refund is 50% of the tuition fee
In the case of a no show, there is no refund
Workshop materials are non-refundable
Note: If you cancel a workshop registration, you can avoid cancellation fees by accepting a credit in lieu of a refund. Credits may be used for any purchases at Body Harmonics.
Leave of absence
If an accident, illness or other circumstance prevents you from completing one of our Teacher Training programs, you may take a leave of absence and rejoin the program when you are ready. Your funds will be kept as a credit on file. No re-administration fees apply. If you permanently withdraw from the program, you will be charged for the hours you have completed. The rest of your tuition and exam fees will be refunded. Program materials are non-refundable.
Harassment and non-discrimination
At Body Harmonics we are committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. No applicant will be denied on the basis of race, natural origin, colour, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation. Harassment and discrimination from any person will not be tolerated. Please our contact our Teacher Training Coordinator if you would like a copy of this policy.
Conduct and dismissal
Body Harmonics recognizes the effort required by Teacher Training students to meet their educational goals. At the same time, students are expected to:
Act in a manner that contributes to a positive, supportive and safe learning environment
Make every effort to arrive on time and stay for the allotted time (if you are late or have to leave early please be discreet)
Turn off your cell phones while at the Centre
Limit the use of scented products when visiting the Centre
Refrain from soliciting Body Harmonics clients, teachers, employees or contractors; handing out any business cards or other literature; arranging to meet with them off the premises.
To fully benefit from a Teacher Training diploma program, it is in your best interest to commit to the entire time frame allotted. If you happen to miss an hour or more, our Teacher Training Coordinator can help you schedule a Teacher Training Tutorial to make up the missed time. This tutorial is an extra cost and should be completed before re-joining the program. Body Harmonics reserves the right to take appropriate action if conduct guidelines are contravened. The first step would be to meet and discuss the situation. In the absence of progress after discussion, Body Harmonics may consider more serious options, including suspension from the program without refund.
Student grievance procedure
At Body Harmonics we are committed to ensuring that students with a grievance relating to their experience in any of our educational events are well taken care of. For more information about our Grievance Procedure, please contact our teacher training coordinator.
Continuing education requirements
To maintain your Body Harmonics Pilates Teacher status, 16 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are required every two years. This gives you the opportunity to get up to speed on new developments in the field as well as interact with and learn from your peers. If you are also a PMA® Certified Teacher, you are also required to earn 16 PMA CECs every two years. Body Harmonics CECs may be applied to maintaining your PMA certification. Contact PMA directly for details. CECs can be earned by attending workshops at Body Harmonics or affiliated Teacher Training Centres. Six of your 16 CECs can come from attending Pilates group classes or one-on-one sessions at Body Harmonics or affiliated Teacher Training Centres. We also consider external events relevant to your scope of practice. Earning CECs at Body Harmonics is easy and streamlined. We even track them for you! Teacher designations upon graduation
When you successfully complete each level of our Pilates Comprehensive Track you are entitled and encouraged to promote yourself as a Body Harmonics® Pilates teacher as long as you maintain your status by completing 16 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years. When you stay current you also have the option to be listed on our online Teacher Finder and receive other Teacher Benefits. Body Harmonics designations must be used as follows on business cards and in other marketing:
Level 1: Mat diploma received = Body Harmonics® Pilates Mat Teacher
Level 2: Reformer diploma received = Body Harmonics® Pilates Mat & Reformer Teacher
Level 3: CCSB diploma received = Body Harmonics® Pilates Comprehensive Teacher
When you successfully complete one of our three Specialist diploma programs, you receive a certificate of completion and are entitled and encouraged to promote your credentials as follows:
Functional Anatomy and Biomechanics diploma received = Body Harmonics® Functional Anatomy & Biomechanics Specialist
Post-Rehab diploma received = Body Harmonics® Post-Rehab Specialist
Diverse Populations diploma received = Body Harmonics® Diverse Populations Specialist
Note: Upon successful completion of any or all of the Pilates Comprehensive Track programs, you are qualified to teach Pilates; however, Body Harmonics does not guarantee employment or automatic accreditation/certification with other organizations
Toronto locations & facilities
Body Harmonics Teacher Training is held at the following locations in Toronto. Students are welcome to practice at either but are asked to call ahead. All Studio policies apply to students attending our programs and workshops and/or practicing at our two Toronto Studios/Centres.
Mat/springboard studio room with 20 mats, 20 arc barrels and 9 springboards
Reformer studio room with 11 reformers
Private session studio room with 4 reformers, 4 Pilates chairs, 1 cadillac, 1 ladder barrel, massage table and 2 springboards
Health Clinic room with 1 high-low bed
Health Clinic room with 1 massage table
If fewer than four people register for a workshop it may be cancelled, typically with two weeks’ notice so you can plan accordingly. In some cases you may be able to complete the workshop privately or semi-privately. Please contact our Teacher Training staff for advice.
Teacher trainer change
Teacher trainers may be changed without notice.
