Working with Concussion and Mild TBI
Concussions affect 1.2% of the population each year, and 25% of people will experience a concussion in their lifetime. Also referred to as mild traumatic brain injury, the symptoms of concussion are varied and complex. Concussion involves a temporary disturbance in brain function. In some cases, it can lead to persistent symptoms – 10-20% of adults, diagnosed with concussion, experience symptoms that last beyond three months. Every concussion case is different, and requires an individualized approach to rehab and returning to physical activity.
