The program requirements consist of five courses from the Body Harmonics Continuing Education curriculum. The curated courses help you build the scope of knowledge and practice that address the unique needs both during and after pregnancy with safety and efficacy. Special attention is paid to the birthing muscles, how they function, what happens during and after pregnancy and how to condition them appropriately.
In addition, you learn about the changes to the round and broad ligaments and how to best support people if they experience ligament pain. There are a number of common complaints and movement impairments encountered during and after pregnancy as well, which are discussed along with best practices to address them—namely pelvic floor dysfunction and diastasis recti. Finally, key contraindications are explored, so movement professionals know exactly what to do and what not to do to best support pre and post-natal clients.
