Motor Learning and Neuroplasticity
Motor learning is a complex process involving the acquisition, refinement, and retention of motor skills. This course focuses on the principles of motor learning, the brain structures involved, and the underlying neuroplastic changes that occur in the brain. We explore the factors that influence motor learning, including practice, feedback, motivation, and the role of specific neurotransmitters. We explain the mechanisms of neuroplasticity that shape the brain’s ability to adapt and change in response to movement experiences.
Participants will gain insights into how to help clients get the most out of their sessions, improve functional carryover and make lasting changes.
Learning objectives
