Mat classes

Beginner Pilates Mat

Core Dynamics 1 – In-Person

This basic level mat class packs a punch for your Pilates “powerhouse” aka you midriff in lay terms. Targeted exercises help you gain control, strength, power and flexibility. You will see and feel your “core” get stronger each week and gain a renewed sensation of support in your legs and arms.

Props Class: Sit Fit & Magic Circle – Live Online

Build on key Pilates principles of core control, fluid motion and coordination while delving deep into the fundamentals of optimal movement. Add Sit Fits and Magic Circles and you’ll have a class that will help you build strength and agility while navigating the gravity field and challenging your balance. Order your Sit Fit & Magic Circle kit if you don’t have one!

Intermediate Pilates Mat

Resistance Training for Strong Bones – Live Online

Designed for those intent on looking after their bone health, this class adheres to the guidelines for osteopenia and osteoporosis. We use hand weights to build bone density and muscular strength, and respect spinal alignment throughout. While geared for intermediate to advanced movers, this class is open to all with exercises that are easy to modify depending on your level. Recommended props: a variety of hand weights of 2-10 lbs.

Core Dynamics 2 – In-Person

At a solid intermediate level, Core Dynamics 2 exercises become more complex, balance is challenged in a range of positions and endurance is emphasized. While your midriff is always centre stage, full body exercises are woven throughout each class. Result: improved performance in sport, dance and just about every other daily activity.

Abs, Hips & Thighs – In-Person and Live Online

Get ready to feel every inch of your midriff, hips and legs from every angle and every direction. This intermediate class based on mat and vertical Pilates will sculpt, reshape and contour your waistline, hips and thighs like never before. The secret lies in working these areas as an integrated system where each part affects the other.

Full Body Flow – Live Online

At a solid intermediate level, Pilates exercises in this class are more complex than at the beginner level, balance is challenged in a range of positions and endurance is emphasized. While your midriff is always centre stage, full-body exercises are woven throughout each class.

Props Class: Foam Roller – Live Online

Add a foam roller and you have a dynamic class with your favourite exercises that challenges your balance, coordination and fluidity. Order your foam roller if you don’t have one!

Props Class: Reformer Reimagined with Theraband & Ball – Live Online

This reformer-inspired class works with resistance and challenges your balance with the squishy ball and theraband to work your core and strengthen your body. The resistance and balance work is akin to being on the reformer. You will walk away feeling strong and balanced! Order your Theraband & Squishy Ball kit if you don’t have one.

Props Class: Sit Fit & Magic Circle – Live Online

Add Sit Fits and Magic Circles and you have a dynamic class that builds in intensity and challenges your balance. It’s almost like being in class at the studio! Order your Sit Fit & Magic Circle kit if you don’t have one.

Props Class: Standing Body Flow with Theraband – Live Online

Add resistance bands and you have a dynamic class that builds in intensity and challenge. It’s almost like being in class at the studio! Order your Theraband if you don’t have one.

Standing Body Flow – Live Online

Get energized and aligned with 30-minutes of weight-bearing exercises that build overall strength and a healthy heart! This class is based on the Pilates vertical repertoire and movement principles so you build strength, agility and balance while challenging your cardiovascular system. Plan to sweat a bit, have some fun and gain a sense of accomplishment in just 30 minutes.

Standing Body Flow With Weights – Live Online

Get energized and aligned with 30 minutes of weight-bearing exercises that build overall strength and a healthy heart! Each class is done standing and incorporates light hand weights (2-5 lbs). This class draws on movement principles to help you build strength, agility and balance while challenging your cardiovascular system.
Don’t have hand weights? No problem! You can improvise with anything that you can easily hold in your hands. Otherwise, you are welcome to purchase 2-4 lb weighted balls from our Body Harmonics Boutique. Email inquiries@bodyharmonics.com.

Strengthen Your Arms & Shoulders – Live Online

The upper body is a moving system unto itself and depends on a strong base of support in the lower body and torso. If your base is fairly strong and you are looking to add specific strength and conditioning for your upper body, this 30-minute option is for you! Each class will incorporate light hand weights (2-5 lbs) and target muscle groups in the upper torso, shoulders, and arms. Don’t have hand weights? No problem! You can improvise with anything that you can easily hold in your hands. Otherwise, you are welcome to purchase 2-4 lb weighted balls from our Body Harmonics Boutique. NOTE: If you are challenged with tension or discomfort in your neck and shoulders, please also attend Release and Stability for Neck & Shoulders. This class builds support and restores function, and is an important first step before a full class of resistance training for the upper body.

Full Body Sculpt – Live Online

Work head to toe in this advanced Pilates & Movement class. Ignite all of your core systems with Pilates principles of control, rhythm and muscle balancing. You will leave feeling taller, stronger and energized.

Power & Flow – Live Online

Control, power and endurance! In this advanced Pilates & Movement class, you put it all together so it’s all systems on, every minute. This Pilates workout is streamlined, muscles are fatigued systematically with a continuous flow from one movement to the next.

Condition Your Balance Systems – Live Online

Balance is an integral element to physical wellness. This class is 30 minutes in length and open to all. We work with all the balance systems to strengthen the connections from head to toe that help us move with steadiness and appropriate muscular engagement. Important: If you have balance challenges, bring a chair to hold onto as needed.

Restorative Pilates Mat

Release and Stability for Neck & Shoulders – Live Online

This Pilates class is for you if your neck and shoulders pay the price of spending hours on a screen. The pace is slow and methodical (even meditative) as we wind through the layers of joints and muscles to minimize tension and create deep support. Because this area of the body can be tight, sore, and stiff, we move slowly so there is time to execute the movements with as much precision as possible.

Restorative & Safe for All – Live Online

This restorative class builds the basics that keep our backs strong and free of chronic pain and tension. If you have even a slight history of lower back issues, this class will transform your core and set you up for continued success. It will help you build strength, gain flexibility and have pain-free movement. This is the same type of class as Core Essentials on our in-person class schedule.

Stand & Wake Up Your Joints – Live Online

This 30-minute standing class is for you if you want to feel energized and strong without too much demand on your joints. Each class will be heart-healthy and a great addition if you want to incorporate strength and balance work for your legs. All exercises will condition your core and light arm motions will be sprinkled into the class for added work in the upper body and more challenge to your balance system.

Neuro Fit for Life – In-Person and Live Online

These movement classes are for those with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s. Classes progress according to your abilities and are intended to be integrative and supportive for the whole body. Reformer classes

Beginner Pilates Reformer

Core Reformer – In-Person

Building on the key Pilates principles of core control, fluid motion and coordination, Core Reformer is an excellent option for beginners or those interested in delving deep into the fundamentals of optimal movement. It’s a balanced workout that really starts to challenge how you use your core in relation to the resistance provided by the reformer machine. You’ll leave feeling a sense of body awareness and control.

Intermediate Pilates Reformer

Reformer Trim & Tone – In-Person

Reformer Trim & Tone offers the perfect balance of strength and flexibility exercises at an intermediate level. If you want want to work hard but also feel stretched out at the end of class, this is the reformer class for you. Through a series of flowing yet challenging movement sequences, this class will help you develop integrated strength, muscular endurance and greater ease of motion.

Intense Reformer – In-Person

Get ready to feel every inch of your midriff, hips and legs from every angle and every direction. This all-over class uses the resistance of the machine to challenge your core as you mobilize your spine and incorporate leg and arm work. It will leave you feeling integrated, strong and mobile from head to toe.

Advanced Pilates Reformer

Reformer Body Sculpt – In-Person

This intermediate-advanced resistance training class incorporates a variety of apparatus from week to week. It’s designed to challenge your mind and body as you master new moves and bring to life muscles you never knew you had. You’ll feel super strong and capable after this tough yet energizing Pilates & Movement class.

Restorative Pilates Reformer

Restorative Reformer – In-Person

This class uses the unique spring resistance system of the Pilates reformer. Modified, therapeutically focused exercises gently but effectively strengthen, align and stretch your whole body. Beneficial and safe if you have arthritis, other joint issues, osteoporosis or injuries/conditions preventing you from participating in other reformer classes.

Springboard classes

Intermediate Pilates Springboard

Springboard Core – In-Person

This basic to intermediate level class incorporates the springboard for every part of the body to build strength, core control and balance. A good foundation of mat classes is strongly recommended so the added resistance helps you get the most out of every exercise. Reformer experience is an asset.

Springboard Intense – In-Person

An intermediate to advanced class that challenges every part of your body so you build strength, flexibility and balance. The spring resistance you work with is deceivingly strong and requires good core control and limb strength, particularly in the hips and shoulders. A great full body workout!

Advanced Pilates Springboard

Springboard Sculpt – In-Person

A demanding and advanced class that puts your whole body to the test! At this level every exercise is full-body and lots of experience on mat and reformer gets you the most out of the class. High-level balance training and integration between refined movement and correct muscle recruitment are the focus.
