International Pilates Teacher Training
No. Because our Specialist diploma programs are designed primarily for Pilates, movement and health professionals, who already have and maintain other professional designations, no additional CECs are required to maintain your Body Harmonics specialist designation. As a Body Harmonics specialist you can be listed on our Teacher Finder for free and access many other benefits.
To ensure that you remain current in the ever-evolving worlds of Pilates, biomechanics, rehabilitation and functional training, and in order for Body Harmonics to stand behind you as a highly qualified and up-to-date professional, we required all of our Pilates Track graduates to complete a minimum of 15 CECs every two years from the date of graduation. Earning CECs at Body Harmonics is easy and streamlined. We even track them for you!
Body Harmonics CECs are calculated as follows: one (1) hour of qualifying instruction = one (1) Body Harmonics CEC. Credits can be any combination of:

Maintaining your status is often required to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance. Maintaining your status also demonstrates to clients and employers that you’re a professional committed to ongoing learning. Graduates in good standing can access numerous Body Harmonics teacher benefits, including a FREE listing on our Teacher Finder.

CECs can be earned by attending Body Harmonics courses at any of our Teacher Training Centres. You may also submit up to six (6) CECs for attending Pilates group classes or private sessions at Body Harmonics or affiliated Teacher Training Centres. For external providers you must provide proof of attendance (and possibly curriculum) to have credits issued. Simply email details to our Teacher Training team. Unlike some other organizations we do not charge a fee to “petition” external programs or workshops.
When you cover the full curriculum of a particular Body Harmonics program, module or Continuing Education course in our Teacher Training Private Tutorials, you receive the equivalent number of credits. For example, if a tutorial for a six (6) credit course takes four (4) hours, you qualify for the full six (6) credits.
Yes, as long as they are obtained within the two-year period following the previous Level completed. Each Level completed counts as 16 credit hours regardless of the length of the program. Body Harmonics Coaching & Mentoring can count for up to 15 CEC’s over a two-year period. Coaching & Mentoring is tailored to your personal goals and growth as a professional. Content for these sessions is developed collaboratively, based on your needs and goals.
You can get CECs for auditing. We know the value of attending educational events more than once, and offer the chance to take any of our Pilates teacher diploma programs (minimum one full module) or Continuing Education courses (full length) as many times as you want. You save 50% when you audit what you already took in the past. Contact our Teacher Training Program Coordinator to book a course audit.
We track your CEC credits in our automated system when you take a Body Harmonics program or workshop at one of our official Teacher Training Centres and periodically send you reminders via email. We also suggest that you check the renewal date on your diploma and proactively contact our Teacher Training team to check on your CEC status if in doubt.
Your Body Harmonics designation will be temporarily suspended until you renew. As a result, you may have difficulty getting insurance and you’ll have to “back track” your Continuing Education Credits to bring your accreditation up to date. Please be aware that back-tracking may or may not be an option in the future so it is always best to stay current. Have more questions? To maintain your PMA®-CPT designation, 16 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are required over two years. Check out the PMA’s requirements here.
In some cases, yes. To inquire about the Body Harmonics Continuing Education course in question, Please contact our Teacher Training team via email or telephone: 416.537.0714 x 63 or 1.877.537.0714 x 63. You may also petition the PMA directly to have our CEC credits recognized.
You can often receive credit for Body Harmonics programs and courses you take from other certifying bodies through their “petition” process. Simply ask your certifying body for details.
