Osteopathy is a hands-on, non-invasive therapy that facilitates self-healing. Its main emphasis is on the structural and functional integrity of the musculoskeletal system. Manual practitioners use a variety of hands-on physical treatments. These include soft tissue techniques, osteo-articular joint mobilization, cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, strain/counterstrain technique, lymphatic drainage, spinal manipulation, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release technique and trigger point therapy. These techniques are normally employed together with exercise, dietary, and occupational advice in an attempt to help clients recover from pain, disease and injury. Prior to treatment we’ll perform a thorough assessment that includes a review of your health history. Then we’ll create your individualized treatment plan incorporating manual techniques and various modalities.
