What are the prerequisites for Body Harmonics teacher training?
Anatomy in Motion is the introductory prerequisite for all Body Harmonics Pilates teacher training. Completion of Anatomy in Motion (or equivalent) is mandatory prior to registration in the Body Harmonics Pilates teacher training courses for Mat Work and Equipment.
When are teacher training courses offered?

I’m unable to attend the teacher training course I have registered for. What happens?
You can easily reschedule or substitute another course. If you will be unable to attend the course you are registered for but can make it to that course or another course at another time, you may transfer your registration. Only one such transfer is allowed and, after that, no refunds will be issued or additional transfers permitted.

I missed part of the course. What happens now?
You must be in attendance for the complete time frame of a course in order to receive a certificate of completion. If you missed any portion of a course you must make up the missed time with private sessions at Body Harmonics Pilates. See Course Cancellation Policy – Uncompleted Courses for additional details.
How do I maintain my status as a Body Harmonics Pilates certified Pilates teacher?
Continuing education is an integral part of the Body Harmonics Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program. Every teacher who successfully completes the Mat Work or Reformer or Equipment Certifications must accumulate 15 continuing education credits (CEC’s) every two years. One credit is equal to one hour of training. CEC’s can be earned by any combination of group classes, private sessions, teacher-training courses or continuing education workshops offered at Body Harmonics Pilates. If I attend a course or workshop through another organization will it count towards my continuing education requirement at Body Harmonics Pilates?
Educational workshops from other organizations will be considered on a case by case basis for a maximum of 4 continuing education credits (CEC’s) per two year period. Contact Elaina Morin at 416-537-0714, ext 40 for further information.
How do I keep track of my CEC’s?
Your attendance at Body Harmonics Pilates courses, workshops, classes and privates is tracked. It is your responsibility to provide proof of successful completion of educational workshops from other organizations for a maximum of 4 CEC’s per two year period. You will be given three months advanced notice of your upcoming CEC renewal date so you have time to attend additional courses or classes to fulfill your CEC requirements and maintain your certification.
I can’t take a teacher training course on the scheduled date. Can I take the training privately?
Teacher training courses may be completed by means of private tutorials with a senior Body Harmonics Pilates teacher. The tutorials include lectures, anatomy review, exercise review and exam preparation. Advantages of this approach include your ability to schedule sessions according to your availability and the individual focus with each one-on-one session tailored to your needs, prior education and experience level. I’d like to teach Pilates to (post-rehabilitation clients or some other special population of clients). How can I obtain specialized training?
Following completion of the Mat Work Intensive, you can complete additional courses or workshops to focus on your particular client needs or your preferred area of practice. The Pilates machines, in particular, the Reformer are ideal for working with post-rehabilitation clients or those with special needs. Body Harmonics Pilates has developed a full roster of workshops and seminars to help Pilates teachers stay current and inspired by the new developments in Pilates and related fields.
Can I take a teacher training course for my own interest?
Yes. You do not have to be a teacher-in-training to take a teacher training course at Body Harmonics Pilates. Some of the most popular courses for personal interest include Anatomy in Motion, Mat Work Foundations, Mat Work Classics and Innovations and Vertical Intensive. Many of the other more specialized courses prove invaluable as you progres with your personal practice.
